McKayla Gray, a senior at Mountain View High School, was awarded a $2,500 scholarship at the Colorado High School Activities Association Board of Control meeting last week.
Gray, who helped the Mountain Lions finish second as a team at the Class 4A state cross country meet with her 18th-place finish, was granted the First Bank Scholarship. She was nominated by MVHS athletic director Rick Logan to a committee through CHSAA which voted on the award.
Gray, and her mother, Jennifer, are regular speakers at meetings for DUI offenders, as a drunk driver changed their life forever. Their remarkable story was told earlier this year in the Reporter-Herald. ci_19184267?IADID=Search-www.reporterherald.com-www.reporterherald.com
