Ready to begin … with bad news for Roosevelt

The smaller classifications are set to get started today, warming up on the mat (See Video) at the Pepsi Center in Denver. Meanwhile, the larger schools have already weighed in, and that brought bad news for a pair of Roosevelt wrestlers.
Junior Dakota Swafford (113) and senior 132 pounder Adam Cary — ranked third in the state — both failed to make weight and are eliminated from the tournament. Roosevelt coach Darren Hankins said both of their scales at home were off, leading both to believe they were safe for the first round.
In the morning session, Berthoud’s five wrestlers will be in action. Check back for reports.
